The true meaning of christmas was not displayed very well, as in the 1700's there was alot of giving but on the upside all the children wern't always expecting to get a present and this shows the true meaning of christmas better because christmas isn't about getting presents, it is about praying and spending time with your family.
Symbols used back in the 1700's included candles, paintings, holly and christmas trees. Christmas was also celebrated by giving money, giving cakes, drinking, shopping, money spending, puppets/other types of entertainment and sometimes they would prayer.
Jesus and God were also prayed to alot as of course they were the almight rulers and owner of heaven but mostly they saved the human race(Sort Of ☺)
